Importance, reproductive strategy and integrated weed management of several perennial weeds

The title of the project:

Effect of long-term fertilization on accumulation of heavy metals in soils

Head of the project:

Dr. Éva Lehoczky

From the aspect of environmental protection there is an increasing demand of the knowledge related to the macro- and microelement, as well as the heavy metal content of soil. The acidification of soil contributes to the solution of metals, which soon or later resulted in the toxic effect of these elements by the means of the undesirable concentration increase. Consequently acidic soils are more sensitive to the polluting processes.

In our project on the base of the research that was done in the Hungarian Long-Term Fertilizer Experimental Network (OMTK) until recently, and in accordance with the goals of our project that has been supported and makes the soil tests possible we try to add more information and experimental results to the knowledge of the effect of the mineral fertilizer application on the heavy metal accumulation in our domestic soils.
