Forgotten sources of 19^th century Hungarian literature and cultural history (a digital anthology)

In the digital anthology entitled Forgotten Sources of 19^th century Hungarian Literature and Cultural History we should like to assemble texts representing characteristically the literary thinking and cultural theory of the century. Our objective is twofold: on the one hand we should like to uncover new and unknown texts, on the other hand to digitalize them to make them available for a broad public of research interest.

The various periodicals of the period especially the fashion magazines and the German papers offer a lot of novelties when systematically studied (a list of the targeted papers is attached to the original application).

According to the twofold objective, the research work is divided into two phases.

1. searching for, and selecting the texts
2. digital editing (we sholud like to make the texts available in picture format)

In the first year we plan to make and process cc 1000 photos (that is, to create the JPG format and PHP surface). This means that by the end of the second year we can make this much material available for research by the internet.In the second, third and fourth years we plan to make 2000 photos/year and to put them on the net continuously.

However, we do not exclude the possibility of publishing relatively independent parts of the material in the traditional way, in periodicals or in book format as well.
